First visit to a pub in Houston,TX. It was quite a change from the saloon type places in college station where I live. Boaka Bar and Mercury Room are located in downtown Houston.They seem to operate jointly and the $10 cover charge gives you access to both the places.This includes the 2 dance floors, live music and all the bar counters ( theres 4 of them).

Drinks are reasonably priced for the location and ambience. I had a couple of white russians and a margarita before I left..the margarita was not as good as the stuff they serve in the mexican restaurants but passable. Nice waitresses and fast service at the bar. Music is OK..nothing to rave about. Worth a visit!
